Hand Rejuvination

Arguably, the hands are the most abused part of the body. Since they are exposed to so much sunlight, weathering, and chemicals, they are one of the first areas of your skin to show signs of aging like thinning, crepe-like textural changes, age spots, & prominent veins & tendons. What is clear, however, is that many of the changes we once associated with chronologic aging of the skin are actually the result of shifts or loss in volume in the fatty layer below it, the so-called subcutaneous fat.
Here at Swiss Care Clinic we use a very successful hand rejuvenation procedure that can reverse most of the hand-ageing symptoms described above. Our hand rejuvenation procedure is a new and very effective treatment that includes the restoration of volume and an increase in the tightness and firmness of the skin.
Our hand rejuvenation procedure employs the use of Radiesse. It “plumps up” the skin. This has the effect of making veins and tendons less visible, which in turn will make your hands look much younger and less wrinkly.
What is Radiesse™ and how does it work?
Radiesse™ is unique dermal filler made from synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water based gel carrier. It is 100% biocompatible; therefore no allergy testing is needed before treatment. CaHA and its components calcium and phosphate occur naturally in human tissue. Radiesse™ is injected below the skin’s surface through a fine needle. A local anesthetic can be used during treatment, which takes less than an hour. Once in position, the CaHA particles form a “scaffold” to support and stimulate the production of the body’s own collagen. Because Radiesse™ is biodegradable; it is gradually broken down over time and is safely and naturally absorbed by the body. The results are longer-lasting, up to 12 months or longer in many patients, but not permanent. You will usually achieve your desired results after just one visit. To ensure your Radiesse™ treatment provides the long term enhancement you want, a follow-up visit is usually scheduled 6 to 12 weeks after the initial treatment, during which the need for a refinement is evaluated.
