Dermal Fillers

Restylane and Perlane are natural products used as cosmetic fillers.

The products consist of stabilized hyaluronic acid which is produced naturally in the cells of the skin. It works by drawing in water and therefore augmenting the skin, thus reducing the wrinkle treated. It is a non-animal product and is very safe to use as cosmetic fillers.

It is used to smooth out facial lines and wrinkles particularly around the mouth, eyes and in the forehead area.

It can also be used for lip enhancement.

Restylane is based on a non-animal Hyaluronic acid. It works together with the body's own Hyaluronic acid and creates volume and fill in lines.

The Hyaluronic acid in Restylane is almost identical to that naturally found in the body.

The product is naturally integrated into the tissue, allowing important nutritive agents to pass freely through the implant and cells to pass between fragments of the gel.

Once in the skin, Restylane works together with the body's own hyaluronic acid and joins forces to create volume.

Unlike permanent implants, Restylane always leaves you a choice when the effect of the treatment has worn off.

To make the procedure far less painful a local anaesthetic cream can be applied or, if preffered, a small injection of local anaesthetic before the Restylane injection.

The effect usually lasts six to nine months.
